COTTON SKY
I look up and see Cotton Candy skies;
Forming bridges and gaps off the Hudson's horizon,
How chilling and beautifully so,
The exodus of clouds across the sky can be;
How exciting! God is a surrealist -
Painting the soft so it can co-exist with the substantive
As the sky unfolds its veil,
In a tumbling aquatic blue backdrop of ombring colors
So the dark at the top of the evening, straight up -
Sneaks into an aqua pastel,
This in turn greets the pinks and oranges of the day;
Only to Exit - thriving within the dancing light of DUSK.
